Discovering Bali's Underwater Wonderland

My Diving Journey

Two years (and a half) ago, I decided to do something different for my birthday – a gift to myself that didn't come wrapped in paper but in bubbles and saltwater. I signed up for my very first scuba dive. I had no idea that one birthday adventure would turn into an obsession with the underwater world of Bali.Since that first dive, I've found myself captivated by Bali’s legendary sites – from the haunting beauty of the USS Liberty Wreck to the thrill of swimming with manta rays off Nusa Penida, and joining in coral restoration project. I couldn’t resist exploring more, so I kept taking courses, each dive revealing a new side of this aquatic wonderland.Bali isn’t just an island of incredible landscapes above water; below the surface, it’s part of the Coral Triangle, home to the most diverse marine life on the planet. Whether you’re new to diving or a seasoned pro, Bali offers endless surprises. Trust me, once you take that plunge, you'll be hooked too. Ready to dive in? Let’s explore this underwater paradise together!

If you're up for an unforgettable dive, the USS Liberty Wreck in Tulamben should be at the top of your list. Originally a World War II cargo ship, this wreck has gone from torpedoed casualty to one of Bali's most vibrant underwater attractions. Just a few meters from shore, the Liberty sits on the seabed, now a thriving coral reef bustling with all kinds of marine life — from the tiniest nudibranchs to schools of friendly jackfish. It's like nature decided to throw the coolest underwater party, and everyone's invited!I first dipped my toes into the world of scuba diving right here at the Liberty Wreck. It was my birthday gift to myself — a decision that turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever made. I remember those early dives, feeling both nervous and excited as I took my first breaths underwater, surrounded by the eerie beauty of a sunken ship. It was like stepping into another world where history meets nature, and I was immediately hooked. I've lost count of how many times I've returned, but each dive has its own story, its own little adventure. The Liberty Wreck isn’t just a dive site; it's where I discovered my passion, made countless memories, and built connections with people who love the ocean as much as I do. So, why not come join us and see for yourself? The water's fine, and the adventure is just getting started!

The Nusa Islands — Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan — are Bali's hidden gems for scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. These islands offer a little bit of everything: mesmerizing coral gardens, thrilling drift dives, and encounters with some of the ocean's most majestic creatures. The first time I dove here, I was lucky enough to spot manta rays gliding gracefully through the water and even had a surprise visit from a pod of dolphins during my Advanced Diving course. It's moments like these that make diving in the Nusas so unforgettable. One of the most exhilarating experiences I had was drift diving at the Mangrove dive spot. The strong currents swept us along the vibrant coral slopes, making it feel like we were flying underwater. Then there was the deep dive at Crystal Bay — a true test of nerves and skills. The visibility was stunning, revealing a world of blue depths and the occasional mola-mola if you’re lucky! Each dive was a rush of adrenaline and awe.Whether you're diving deep or exploring the shallows, the Nusas offer something for everyone. Come experience it with me, and let's create your own underwater adventure!

Amed is a diver’s dream come true, with its laid-back vibe, stunning coral gardens, and a variety of underwater landscapes to explore. It’s where I decided to take my diving skills up a notch by completing my Emergency First Response (EFR) and Rescue Diver training. The currents here can be challenging, but they keep every dive exciting and full of learning opportunities. It’s a place where you can grow as a diver while having an unforgettable time underwater. Two of my favorite spots in Amed are the Pyramids and Jemeluk. The Pyramids is an incredible artificial reef that’s teeming with life — it feels like diving through an underwater art installation! Jemeluk offers a more natural beauty with its stunning coral formations and varied topography, perfect for both beginners and experienced divers. I love exploring these sites, finding new surprises every time I dive. And then there's the Coral Gardens and Amed Wall, both of which offer something unique. The Coral Gardens is perfect for a relaxed dive, with vibrant corals and schools of colorful fish. Meanwhile, Amed Wall offers a dramatic drop-off that’s ideal for exploring deeper waters and encountering larger marine life. Amed has become one of my favorite places to dive, and I’d love to share these incredible spots with you. Come join me, and let’s discover the magic of Amed together!
